Norway’s leading dairy company Tine is expanding its range of drinking yoghurts and smoothies with the introduction of custom moulded multilayer plastic bottles designed and produced by RPC Promens Consumer Kambo.
The new bottles mark a major investment by RPC Promens Kambo in multilayer bottle production, which will offer a choice of sizes from 100 to 1000ml. The polypropylene bottles feature a seven layer construction with EVOH providing the barrier against oxygen ingress. This is the first seven layer line established in the Nordic region and will enable RPC Promens to meet increasing demand for bottles that offer enhanced protection and extended shelf life for natural, preservative-free products.
The stylish curved 300ml bottle for Tine brands including YT and Biola features an attractive waisted design that offers easy handling and maximum convenience for the consumer. The 36mm neck allows easy pouring or drinking direct from the bottle. Shrink sleeves provide full coverage of the bottle for effective, eye-catching decoration that further maximises branding and on-shelf appeal.
The launch of the new bottle, which will be joined later in the year by a 100ml size, also marks an important milestone for Tine which previously sold its drinks only in cartons.
“With such an important development, it was essential that we had a bottle that was functional and user-friendly, matched the premium image of our brands and was able to offer the appropriate level of protection to ensure product quality was maintained,” explains Morten Aas, Tine’s R&D manager, packaging and design.
“The bottles from RPC Promens have exactly met our requirements and we are delighted with the company’s contribution to this major launch.”
